Hein Raat

Hein Raat, MD, PhD, MBA, serves as Professor Emeritus and Scientific Advisor at Erasmus MC since August 2011, focusing on public health innovations for vulnerable populations such as parents, children, youth, and older citizens, emphasizing the social determinants of health. Raat also holds the position of Professor of Infant, Child and Adolescent Public Health at Jong JGZ since November 2022 and has extensive experience in youth health, having worked as a youth health physician at Kenter Jeugdhulp from April 2015 to March 2023. Raat contributed as a member of the Board of Commissioners for Kenter Jeugdhulp and led the Advisory Committee on Developmental Research at the Nederlands Centrum Jeugdgezondheid from December 2011 to August 2019. Additionally, Raat participated in evaluating the core packages of youth health care while serving on a committee for the Dutch Ministry of VWS from April 2012 to February 2013. Educational qualifications include an MBA from the University of Rochester, a Community Health Physician degree from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, a Master's degree in Sociology from the University of Amsterdam, and an MD from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
