Neil Snyders

Neil Snyders is an accomplished metallurgist with extensive experience in mineral processing and hydrometallurgy. Currently serving as the Chief Technologist at ERG Africa since September 2021, Snyders previously held the position of Hydrometallurgy Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa at Outotec from August 2018 to August 2021. Prior to that, Snyders worked as a Process Engineer at the University of Stellenbosch, coordinating innovative research projects focused on PGM extraction, and as a Senior Process Engineer at Lonmin Plc, overseeing feasibility studies and capital project implementations. Snyders began a career in mineral processing at Anglo Platinum as a Process Engineer, where significant contributions were made in optimizing critical systems. Snyders holds a PhD in PGM and Au processing, a Master’s degree, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mineral Processing from Stellenbosch University.
