Jennifer Kemp Berchtold

Jennifer Kemp Berchtold is the Infant Studies Certificate Programs Manager at Erikson Institute. Jennifer has over fifteen years of experience working in early childhood education and child development, including inpatient Child Life Specialist II (Infant-Toddler and NICU Specialist) at University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital and adjunct faculty in child development at Harold Washington College. Jennifer has also been running their own developmental services company, Jennifer L. Kemp Developmental Services, for the past five years. In their current role at Erikson Institute, they manage the institute's two infant studies certificate programs and is responsible for programmatic oversight, curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation.

Jennifer Kemp Berchtold has a Master's of Science in Child Development with an additional specialization in infancy from the Erikson Institute. Jennifer also has a B.S. in Multidisciplinary Studies from Illinois State University with an emphasis in Elementary & Early Childhood Curriculum & Instruction and strong coursework in Child Development, Family Studies, Psychology, and Special Education. Jennifer also has a minor in Spanish. Jennifer is certified from Illinois Gateways to Opportunity in Level 6 Infant Toddler Credential, The Child Life Council as a Certified Child Life Specialist, Department of Human Services, Illinois (Provider Connections) as a Credentialed Developmental Therapist and Evaluator, and Safe Kids Worldwide as a Child Passenger Safety Technician.
