Nicola Giammarioli

Nicola Giammarioli has extensive experience in economic policy and institutional relations, currently serving as Secretary General and Management Board Member at the European Stability Mechanism since 2012, with responsibilities in corporate governance and policy strategy. Prior roles include Head of Strategy and Institutional Relations, where Nicola coordinated country teams for Greece and Ireland from 2013 to 2019. Previous positions encompass serving as an Executive Board Member at the International Monetary Fund, Director at the Department of the Treasury in Italy's Ministry of Economy and Finance, and various economist roles at the European Central Bank. Educational background includes a Ph.D. in Economics from the European University Institute, an M.Sc. in Quantitative Development Economics from the University of Warwick, and a B.A. in Economics from Università Bocconi.
