Role Overview

The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for the commercial management of the projects assigned to them, working on site and in the office 3 days a week they will manage change, manage subcontract payments, monthly applications, CVR’s and commercial risk management, financial project reporting, all other contractual administration, required to provide a robust commercial performance of projects under their control.

What will you be doing?

  • All aspects of day-to-day management of the project.
  • Maintaining the business cashflow forecast in conjunction with the sales, finance and managing directors
  • The completion of Pre-qualification questionnaire commercial sections
  • Commercial negotiation of contracts
  • Project positive cashflow and milestone creation
  • Project risk register creation and management
  • Financial management of projects budget and spend.
  • Project cashflow management
  • Review and approval of contract variations
  • Negotiating and agreeing terms and conditions with the supply chain

What are we looking for?

  • Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor for Contractor able to demonstrate good commercial acumen

  • Can demonstrate working and interfacing with clients and key stakeholders on a project

  • Good track record of contract management

  • Strong understanding of budget and cashflow management

  • Strong Understanding of business finances (P&L, Balance Sheet)

  • Ability to effectively problem solve and think outside the box

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to build rapport with ease

  • Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project Programming Software)

  • Excellent attention to detail with an eye for accuracy

  • Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and always maintain confidentiality
