THE ROLE
As the Lead Elementary School Science Teacher at Ethos Classical, you will create a classroom environment that inspires curiosity, critical thinking, and a deep understanding of the world through science for K-4 scholars. You will play a key role in developing an innovative and challenging science curriculum that empowers scholars to explore and engage with scientific concepts and principles. By holding scholars to high academic and behavioral standards, you will help foster a school culture that redefines public education in Atlanta. 

THE PERSON
As the Lead Elementary School Science Teacher, you will:

  • Design and deliver engaging, inquiry-based science lessons that build foundational knowledge and promote exploration and discovery.
  • Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning needs, ensuring all scholars can access and excel in the curriculum.
  • Use assessments to monitor scholar progress and provide constructive feedback, ensuring mastery of core scientific concepts.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to foster a supportive and cohesive learning environment that emphasizes interdisciplinary learning.
  • Cultivate a classroom culture that celebrates curiosity, diversity, and academic excellence.
  • Integrate a variety of instructional materials and hands-on activities to deepen scholar engagement and understanding of science.
  • Communicate effectively with scholars, families, and staff, building strong partnerships that support each scholar's growth and development.

THE MUST HAVES

Prior Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Valid Georgia teaching certification in Elementary Education or Science Endorsement.
  • Proven experience teaching science at the elementary level, with a record of scholar growth and engagement.
  • Strong grasp of scientific concepts and practices, presented in ways accessible to young learners.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Work Demands

  • Schedule: 7:30 am - 3:45 pm, Monday through Friday.
