THE ROLE
As the Third Grade English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher at Ethos Classical, you will create a classroom environment that fosters academic excellence, personal growth, and a lifelong love for reading and writing. In this role, you will contribute to an innovative educational model that redefines public education in Atlanta. By setting high standards for both academics and behavior, you will empower scholars to achieve their full potential while committing to your own professional growth. Teaching two sections with an average class size of 27 scholars is a rewarding challenge, requiring passion, commitment, and a growth mindset. This role does have a dedicated Teaching Assistant for this school year. 

THE PERSON
As the Third Grade ELA Teacher, you will:

  • Design and deliver engaging, rigorous ELA instruction that builds strong reading, writing, and critical thinking skills in fourth-grade scholars.

  • Differentiate instruction to address diverse learning styles and help every scholar reach their potential.

  • Assess and monitor scholar progress, providing timely feedback and progress reports to both scholars and families.

  • Collaborate with fellow educators to create a cohesive, supportive learning environment that promotes academic and social-emotional growth.

  • Build a classroom culture that celebrates diversity, equity, and academic excellence.

  • Use a variety of instructional materials and strategies to enhance scholar engagement and mastery of language arts.

  • Communicate effectively with scholars, families, and staff to support each scholar's development.

THE MUST HAVES

Prior Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Valid Georgia teaching certification in Elementary Education (P-5) or ELA endorsement.
  • Proven experience teaching English Language Arts, with demonstrated success in scholar growth and achievement.
  • Strong knowledge of literacy and language concepts, presented in a way that’s accessible to young learners.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.

Work Demands

  • Schedule: 7:15 am - 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
