Joonas Jokiniemi

Joonas Jokiniemi currently serves as the Head of Privacy and Data Protection Officer at Neste, responsible for global compliance with privacy regulations, managing accountability documentation, and providing organizational training on privacy topics. Joonas is also a member of the EDPB Support Pool of Experts, recognized for expertise in data protection. Previous experience includes roles as Privacy Counsel at Veikkaus Oy, where comprehensive legal guidance on privacy matters was provided, and as Global Privacy Officer and Data Protection Manager at UPM, focusing on the maintenance and compliance of global privacy programs. Joonas began a career in legal and regulatory support at the European Chemicals Agency and has a strong educational background, holding multiple law and computer science degrees from the University of Lapland and the University of Tampere.
