Peter Sonsini

Peter Sonsini is a venture capitalist and board member at Evident. Peter focuses on enterprise software companies and has made investments in Anyscale, Conviva, Databricks, Forethought, Guidespark, Instabase, Matroid, Nefeli, Plasmic, Streamsets, Sisu Data, and Yubico. Peter has also served on the boards of Sisu Data, Databricks, Instabase, StreamSets Inc., Conviva, and Matroid.

Prior to their current role, Sonsini was the senior director of strategic alliances at VMware where they established OEM relationships and negotiated resale and support agreements with all major hardware vendors worldwide. Peter grew sales through OEMs from $0 to $40M in four years. Peter also served as the director of product management at Mirapoint and as the WW product marketing manager at Hewlett-Packard.

Peter Sonsini attended Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management from 1994 to 1996, where they earned their MBA. Peter also attended the University of California, Berkeley from 1986 to 1990, where they studied Political Economy of Industrial Societies. While at Berkeley, they were also a member of the varsity intercollegiate rugby team, Skull & Keys, and Phi Gamma Delta.
