Henri Happonen

Henri Happonen is a Data Engineer at Expedia Group, responsible for building and optimizing advanced big data applications while managing data products that influence over $1 billion in annual advertising spend. Previously, Henri served as Head of Engineering at Project Access, a social mobility startup dedicated to fighting systemic inequalities in access to higher education, and as Lead Software Engineer, where a serverless platform was developed to enhance data science capabilities. Mentorship for underprivileged students was also provided. Prior experience includes roles as a Data Scientist at Punter Southall Group, where new data processing pipelines were created, and Analyst positions at S-Pankki, focusing on banking transactions and GDPR compliance. Henri holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from King’s College London and a Matriculation Examination from Pohjois-Haagan yhteiskoulu.
