Karina Palomares

Karina Palomares, Ph.D., currently serves as Associate Director of Process Development at Fate Therapeutics Inc, having progressed through various roles including Principal Scientist, Senior Scientist, and Scientist in the same department since October 2017. Previously, Karina worked as a Science Writer for APEX Think Consulting and held the position of Scientist III at Thermo Fisher Scientific, focusing on stem cell research. Karina's academic journey includes a postdoctoral research position at UC San Diego, where models of human induced pluripotent stem cells were generated to study cardiomyopathy, and graduate research at UCLA, where engineering of the nipah virus envelope glycoproteins was undertaken. With a Ph.D. from UCLA and a Master's from California State University, Los Angeles, educational foundations in biological sciences are solidly established with a Bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame.
