Barbara McCarthy

Barbara McCarthy is a Dublin-based freelance photographer and journalist with extensive experience in both fields. Since February 2013, Barbara has worked as a photographer for various publications, including Al Jazeera and The Irish Times, while also contributing articles to major outlets such as The Sunday Independent and The Sunday Times since 2002. Barbara has served as a freelance contributor to the Business Section of The Sunday Times and worked with Al Jazeera English as a correspondent and photographer. Additionally, Barbara has held roles in project management, including environmental regeneration and academic research related to climate change. Educational background includes degrees from Trinity College Dublin and Dublin City University, as well as courses in journalism and photography from various institutions.
