Jay Skylus

Jay Skylus is a seasoned aerospace professional with extensive experience in propulsion systems and autonomous transport services. As the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Aevum, Inc. since June 2016, Jay has focused on developing innovative autonomous transport solutions. In addition to this role, Jay serves as the Nuclear Propulsion Industry Representative for the Federal Aviation Administration, providing advisory support to the Commercial Space Transportation Advisory Committee. Other notable positions include membership on the AIAA Reusable Launch Vehicle Technical Committee and previous engineering roles at Kord Technologies, Boeing, FireFly Space Systems, and NASA. With a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Applied Mathematics from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, Jay has contributed to significant projects, including the optimization of nuclear thermal rocket fuels and the development of autonomous algorithms for shockwave detection in interplanetary research.
