Tomas Borec has a distinguished career in law and governance, serving as Judge of the FIA Courts since January 2024 and as Chairman of the Arbitration Court for the Slovenská obchodná a priemyselná komora since January 2022. Borec is also a Member of the Supervisory Board at Tatra banka and the Owner of BOREC & BOHUNSKY law office, roles held since June 2020 and June 2016, respectively. Additional positions include being a Court member for ICC Arbitration and previously serving as President of the Slovak Bar Association on two separate occasions. Borec's extensive experience includes key roles such as Board Member at EXIMBANKA SR and Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Vseobecna zdravotna poistovna, as well as a tenure as Minister of Justice in the Slovak Republic. Borec earned a Doctor of Law degree from Comenius University, School of Law, between 1985 and 1989.
