Lisa Friscia is excited to join the founding Board of Felt. She is currently the Chief People Officer at Democracy Prep Public Schools. She is responsible for ensuring that DPPS is able to attract, develop and retain high quality talent across the network. Through her career, she has been a teacher and a founding principal of Democracy Prep’s first high school, where Regents pass rates consistently outranked the districts and city and 100% of seniors were accepted into college. As a lifelong educator and the daughter of an immigrant, she is humbled to support Felt in its work.
She is a proud Amherst graduate, where she earned her B.A. in American Studies and Economics. She also holds an M. Ed in Social Studies Education from Queens University and an M. Ed. in Educational Leadership from Teachers College. In addition to her work at Felt, she volunteers her time as Board Chair of Forte Prep Charter School, and on the Associate Boards of Gilda’s Club NYC and the Women’s Prison Association.
