Elina Merta

Elina Merta is an expert in land use and environmental matters at Fingrid Oyj since February 2023. Previously, Elina served as a Senior Expert at Sitowise, focusing on climate and sustainability consulting, including carbon footprinting and climate impact assessments. At FCG Finnish Consulting Group, Elina worked as an LCA specialist, addressing environmental and sustainability needs for various organizations. Before that, Elina was a Research Scientist at VTT, participating in technology evaluation and life cycle analysis within numerous research projects. Early career roles included Development Engineer at Biozone Scientific International Oy and Research Assistant at Tampere University of Technology, where Elina contributed to wastewater management research and product safety certification. Academic qualifications include a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering from Tampere University of Technology and an extensive educational background from University of Helsinki and Loimaan lukio.
