Markus Karlsen

Markus Karlsen is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in international relations and policy support. Currently serving as a Special Adviser at Finnmark fylkeskommune since September 2023, Markus previously held the position of Head at The International Barents Secretariat from January 2021 to September 2023. Prior to this, Markus worked at Finnmark fylkeskommune in various roles, including Head of International Relations and International Adviser, focusing on economic development through collaboration with local municipalities and institutions. With a background in policy support at OSCE and experience as a Human Rights Officer with UNOMIG, Markus also holds degrees in Human Resources Management and Human Resources from BI Norwegian Business School and the University of South-Eastern Norway, respectively.
