David Smith

David Smith is a seasoned human resources professional with extensive experience in the mining industry and a robust background in strategic HR leadership. Currently serving as Vice President of Human Resources at First Majestic Silver Corp. since November 2019, David is responsible for overseeing HR functions for over 5,000 employees across operations in Mexico and the United States. Previous roles include Principal at LDS Consulting Services, where David provided HR consulting for mining industry leaders, and Senior Vice President of Human Resources at KGHM International, where responsibilities included HR integration following mergers. David has also held various HR leadership positions at notable organizations such as Silver Standard Resources Inc., Kinross Gold Corporation, Barrick Gold Corporation, Cellmania Inc., and Motorola. Educational qualifications include a BA in Economics from Brock University and an Executive Program in Human Resources from the University of Toronto.
