Blake Martin

Blake Martin, Ph.D., currently serves as a Development Engineer II - Polymer Chemist at First Solar since April 2023. Prior to this role, Blake was a Graduate Research Assistant at Case Western Reserve University from June 2018 to March 2023, focusing on the synthesis and characterization of graphyne through Sonogashira polymerization. Blake's academic journey began at The University of Southern Mississippi, where an undergraduate research assistantship from May 2015 to May 2018 included work in thiol-ene chemistry, polymer nanotechnology, and siRNA drug delivery. Earlier, Blake tutored chemistry and biology subjects at Holmes Community College. Educational achievements include a Doctor of Philosophy in Macromolecular Science and Engineering from Case Western Reserve University, a Bachelor of Science in Polymer Science with minors in Biology, Chemistry, and Math from The University of Southern Mississippi, and an Associate's degree in Clinical/Medical Laboratory Technician from Holmes Community College.
