Birand Bingül

Birand Bingül is an experienced professional in the fields of communication and strategy, currently serving as Managing Director at fischerAppelt and as Chief Communication Officer for WDR/ARD since January 2020. Previously, Birand held various roles at WDR, including Deputy Head of the Directorate and Head of the Director's Office, as well as a correspondent for Tagesschau. Additionally, Birand serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes. Birand's academic background includes a Diplom-Journalist degree in Journalism from TU Dortmund University, completed between 1994 and 1999. A brief career break was taken for full-time parenting.
