Derek Dawson

Derek Dawson is an experienced aviation professional currently serving as a Gulfstream 450 Captain at Flexjet, a position held since September 2020, following a tenure as First Officer for the Challenger 300/350. Prior to Flexjet, Derek was a First Officer at PSA Airlines from June 2019 to September 2020. Derek's earlier career includes significant roles at Lockheed Martin, where responsibilities included leading ALIS site activation for multiple naval forces, and a 20-year service in the US Navy with various positions, such as overseeing F-35C Joint Strike Fighter requirements and serving as a Strike Fighter Wing Safety Officer. Derek holds a Bachelor of Science in Geological and Earth Sciences from The University of Memphis and advanced training from the US Navy School of Aviation Safety and US Navy Fighter Weapons School.
