Donavon Johnson, PhD, is an Assistant Professor at Florida International University since September 2023. Johnson currently serves as Lead Data Scientist at the Ministry of National Security Jamaica and as Senior Research Fellow at The Global Tourism Resilience and Crisis Management Centre, both positions held since September 2021 and January 2020, respectively. Previous roles include Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at Florida International University from August 2018 to January 2022, and Director at eGov Jamaica from September 2016 to August 2018. Johnson also contributed as a Research Fellow at the Center of Leadership and Governance, UWI Mona, from September 2013 to August 2018. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Public Policy and Administration from Florida International University, an Executive Diploma in Artificial Intelligence and Governance, a Master's Degree in International Public and Development Management from The University of the West Indies, and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science with minors in Public Sector Management and Criminology.
