Alfonso Garate

Alfonso Garate has over 25 years of experience in the cement and construction industry. Alfonso began their career as a financial analyst for Barclays-BZW, before moving to Amadeus as a senior analyst. In 1997, they joined Holcim Trading as Deputy Director of Affiliates, where they were responsible for the company's international trading operations. Alfonso was promoted to CEO in 2009, and oversaw the development and management of local cement production, sale and distribution operations in West Africa and the Middle East. Alfonso left Holcim Trading in 2012 to join Flour Mills of Nigeria as a non-executive board member.

Alfonso Garate's educational career includes a type AMP from Harvard Business School, a field in Senior Leadership Program from IMD, a Senior Management Program from IMD, and a BA in Economics and Business Administration from Comillas Pontifical University.
