Brecht Bamps is a PhD researcher at KU Leuven since October 2020, focusing on the impacts of extreme weather on the vigor and productivity of pear orchards in Flanders. Concurrently, Bamps holds a PhD fellowship at Research Foundation Flanders - FWO since November 2021. Prior experience includes working as a studieverantwoordelijke for stormwater plans at Aquafin, where assistance was provided to cities and municipalities in developing sustainable waste and rainwater management strategies. Additional roles at KU Leuven involved research in the context of the Horizon 2020 DAFNE project, and previous positions at VITO and involvement in erosion and flood issues during an internship at Regionaal Landschap Haspengouw en Voeren were also undertaken. Brecht Bamps holds a Master of Science in Agro- and Ecosystem Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Biology, both from KU Leuven.
