Ed Johnson

Ed Johnson is an accomplished Art Director and Creative Consultant with a robust background in design and art direction, currently serving as Art Director for Foreign Affairs Magazine since June 2022. As a Freelance Designer since September 2007, Ed has collaborated with notable clients such as The Atavist Magazine, Politico, and Observer Media Group. Previous roles include Creative Director at Institutional Investor, where Ed managed a four-person art department for a large circulation magazine, and Art Director for Foreign Policy, overseeing the redesign of print and digital products. Ed also held leadership positions at New York Observer and Manhattan Media, guiding teams in the production of various publications. Ed holds a Bachelor's of Science in Graphic Design and Non-Fiction Writing from Portland State University.
