Laura Bird

Laura has more than 40 years of experience in the development and construction industry, including retail, residential, education, public facilities, nonprofit, high-rise, and tenant improvement construction. In her early career, as she worked to complete her formal education at Texas A&M with a degree in Building Construction (Construction Science) from the College of Architecture, she gained hands-on field knowledge of the construction industry. Her primary career focus has been on creating interdisciplinary teams to plan and build aesthetically significant and purposeful environments that support occupants, health, wellness and lifestyle. Three projects she completed are AIA award winners. Her most recent project was Frost Tower Fort Worth, a 25-story building located downtown. Past service to FWCD includes Building and Grounds Committee (2000-15), FWCD PFA President (2002-03), and Board of Trustees (2005-11).
