Kate Pierce

Kate Pierce, MSMIIT, CHCIO, CHISL, CDH-E, currently serves as Senior vCISO and Executive Director of Government Affairs at Fortified Health Security since October 2022, providing leadership in cybersecurity for multiple hospitals. With over 25 years of experience in healthcare IT, Kate previously held the position of CIO/CISO at North Country Hospital from September 2001 to October 2022, where responsibilities included developing an organization-wide information security program and supporting clinical and financial systems. Earlier roles include Director of Clinical Informatics and Systems Analyst at North Country Hospital, and Billing Manager at Orleans/Essex Visiting Nurse Association. Kate's military background includes service as an EW SIGINT Intercept Operator in the U.S. Army. Educational qualifications comprise a Master’s degree in Managing Information Technology from Champlain College and multiple degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science from Lyndon State College.
