MacHelle Sanders

Machelle Sanders currently serves as a Board Member at Fortrea, BioCryst Pharmaceuticals, myFutureNC, and UNC Health Foundation, as well as Cabinet Secretary for the North Carolina Department of Commerce and the North Carolina Department of Administration, positions appointed by Governor Roy Cooper. Previous board experiences include membership at Novan, Inc. and Radius Health, Inc., with roles on their Compensation Committees. Machelle's extensive background in the pharmaceutical industry includes significant leadership roles at Biogen, overseeing operations, quality assurance, and product management for the Multiple Sclerosis franchise. Machelle holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from North Carolina State University and a Master of Health Administration from Pfeiffer University.
