Izzy Valdivia

Izzy Valdivia is currently serving as a Genomics Research Assistant at Fred Hutch, having started in September 2024. Prior to this role, Izzy worked at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota as a Data Insights Journalist from October 2022 to October 2024, where responsibilities included processing data for member communications, leading data wrangling for Medicaid Redeterminations, producing PowerBI dashboards, and analyzing member movement trends. Previous experience also includes positions as an Engineering Analyst at Securian Financial, where web application development and project collaboration were key focuses, and as a Preceptor for Object Oriented Programming and Introduction to Computer Science at Macalester College. Izzy's educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from Macalester College and ongoing pursuit of a Master’s degree in Data Science at the University of Washington.
