Cheikh Chekroud

Cheikh Chekroud is an experienced mining professional with a significant background in mine management and engineering. At Freeport-McMoRan since October 2011, Cheikh has held various roles, including Mine Manager and Chief Engineer, with responsibilities focused on mine cost modeling and ultimate pit designs. Prior experience includes serving as Mine Superintendent at the Rhein Mine for SNIM, where Cheikh ensured safe and efficient operations while promoting a culture of excellence. Additional roles at SNIM involved short-range mine planning and interim operations at the TO14 Mine, managing substantial production and staff. Cheikh's academic credentials include a Master’s Degree in Operation Management from the University of Arkansas and a Bachelor’s in Mining Engineering from the University of Arizona.
