Michael J. Hynes

Fulbright Specialist at Fulbright Association

Michael J. Hynes currently serves as a Fulbright Specialist with the Fulbright Association and as the Superintendent of Schools for the Port Washington Union Free School District, overseeing 5,300 students and over 1,400 staff members. Hynes has held several academic and administrative roles, including Associate Professor of Educational Leadership at Long Island University and Superintendent for the Patchogue-Medford School District and Shelter Island School District. As a keynote speaker for the American Program Bureau and TEDx speaker, Hynes has contributed to educational discourse. An accomplished author, Hynes published "Staying Grounded" through Codebreaker Inc. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Education in Educational Administration and Technology from Dowling College, a Post Graduate Certificate in School Business Administration from Stony Brook University, and additional degrees from Harvard Graduate School of Education and Bethany College.
