Russ Rutherford

Russ Rutherford has extensive experience in music education, serving as Director of Fine Arts and Director of Bands at Gainesville Independent School District from July 2016 to the present, where responsibilities include conducting high school concert and marching bands and coaching ensembles for competitions. Prior to this role, Russ was the Director of Bands at Celina Independent School District from July 1993 to June 2016, overseeing the entire band program and conducting high school ensembles. Academic credentials include a Master of Musical Arts in Trombone from the University of North Texas (1988-1993) and a Bachelor of Music Education from Southwest Baptist University (1980-1984).
