Ira Hesp

Ira Hesp currently serves as a Communicatieadviseur at Gemeente Almelo, focusing on governance communication related to sustainability, culture, water, and green initiatives since January 2023. Previous experience includes working as an Omgevingsmanager at Pure Energie, where responsibilities involved engaging the community regarding the development of wind and solar parks. Ira has held various roles in crisis communication at Veiligheidsregio Twente, including Head of Information Crisis Communication, and has provided communication advice at GHOR Twente and RIEC Oost-Nederland. Additional roles include Specialist Communicatie for Brandweer Twente and marketing communication positions at TKF and AgriPers. Ira Hesp holds a Master of Science in Communication Science from the University of Amsterdam and a certificate in Behavior Change from the Behavior Change Academy.
