Gilles van Sandwijk

Gilles van Sandwijk is an experienced project leader specializing in spatial development, currently working at Gemeente Heemskerk since June 2023. Prior to this role, Gilles served as a senior advisor at Afvalzorg from August 2018 to June 2023, and as an environmental advisor at BAM Infra Nederland for a brief period in early 2018. Gilles has extensive knowledge in soil and subsurface advisory roles, having worked as a specialist advisor at Gemeente Breda from 2014 to 2017. Earlier career experiences include providing consultancy on soil remediation at Antea Group Nederland and working as an assistant project leader at Hannover Milieu - en Veiligheidstechniek. Gilles holds a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering Technology from Wageningen University & Research and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Inholland University of Applied Sciences, complemented by a VWO diploma from Rijnlands Lyceum Oegstgeest.
