Martin Poorthuis

Martin Poorthuis has extensive experience in communication and marketing roles over several decades. Currently serving as Senior Communicatieadviseur at gemeente Hengelo since January 2002, Martin has held various leadership positions, including acting department head. Past roles include Senior Communicatieadviseur at Keijzer & Botter Communicatieadvies, Communicatiemanager at Nijkamp & Nijboer, and Marketing en PR manager at Accenture, where Martin established a communication department. Earlier in career, Martin served as Marketing Coördinator for the Educational Computing Consortium and as Regionale marketing functionaris at NV Nederlandse Spoorwegen. Martin's education includes a degree in commercial economics from Saxion University and various advanced studies in government communication.
