Luis de Souza Cardoso

Luis de Souza Cardoso currently serves as the South America Area Liaison and Global Missionary - Coordinator of Lay Pastoral Teams & School Chaplain at the General Board of Global Ministries since August 2021. Previously, from October 2016 to January 2021, Luis worked as a Consultant for the Latin America and Caribbean Regional Office, focusing on global mission efforts, ecumenical work, and training initiatives. Luis has extensive experience in higher education administration, having held roles such as Executive Director for Latin America at the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry and Executive Secretary at COGEIME. Luis is a former president of the Latin American Association of Methodist Educational Institutions and has also provided advisory roles at various educational institutions. Luis holds multiple degrees, including a doctorate in Education from Universidade Metodista de São Paulo and a degree in Theology from ISEDET.
