Elena Garcia

Elena Garcia is an accomplished aerospace engineer with extensive experience at the Georgia Institute of Technology since September 1996, currently serving as the Advanced Methods Division Chief. In this role, Elena supervises the development of methods for the Aerospace Systems Design Laboratory. Previously, as an International Programs Manager, Elena oversaw research projects with international sponsors and mentored graduate students. With a strong background in project management, Elena has led numerous projects focused on affordability, national airspace system interactions, and aircraft technology integration. Elena's early career included a research assistant position at the University of Virginia and an internship at General Electric Aircraft Engines. Elena holds a PhD in Aerospace Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a BS in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Virginia.
