Lew Lefton

Lew Lefton is a Principal Academic Professional Emeritus at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where a career spanned over two decades from 1999 to 2023, focusing on research computing and IT services within the College of Sciences. Lew has held several key positions, including Associate Vice President for Research Computing and IT Director for both the College of Sciences and the School of Mathematics, while also teaching parallel and vector scientific computing. In addition, Lew is the Founding Director and Executive Director of Decatur Makers, a non-profit makerspace dedicated to fostering a collaborative environment for a diverse community to engage in various creative and technical activities. Lew earned a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign between 1982 and 1987.
