Patrick Smit

Patrick Smit is a medical professional currently undertaking a psychotherapy internship at Erasmus MC, starting January 2024, which is part of the Erasmus MC Psychiatry Training Program. Prior experience includes serving as a Psychiatry Resident at GGZ Drenthe since October 2020, and as an Internist-Hematologist at Treant Zorggroep from June 2018 to September 2020. Patrick has also held positions as a Fellow in Hematology at VUmc and as a Resident in Internal Medicine at both UMC Utrecht and Gelre ziekenhuizen. Earlier career stages included a PhD fellowship focused on pandemic influenza A (H1N1) and other respiratory viruses at MC Slotervaart and a role as Clinical Study Coordinator for the CAPITA trial. Patrick holds an M.D. from the University of Amsterdam and a PhD in Infectious Diseases from Utrecht University.
