Hayato Shiotsu

Research Associate at Gilead Sciences

Hayato Shiotsu is a Research Associate at Gilead Sciences specializing in medicinal chemistry since February 2023. Previously, an Undergraduate Researcher at Harvard University from July 2021 to December 2022, Hayato focused on asymmetric organocatalysis, developing innovative organic reactions and synthesizing unique organic molecules. Having gained experience as an Invited Visiting Student at ETH Zürich and a Visiting Student at The University of Tokyo, contributions included designing peptide catalysts and developing asymmetric catalytic reactions in aqueous solvents. Earlier research experiences at Harvard and Hiroshima University encompassed chemical biology and cell biology, respectively, with a strong foundation in molecular biology techniques. Hayato holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry and Physics from Harvard University.
