Mona Hein

Mona Hein is an experienced advisor and researcher with a focus on religion and development. Since January 2022, Mona has been serving as an Advisor on Religion and Development at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and also holds a researcher position at the United States Institute of Peace since April 2021. Mona's expertise includes analyzing religious landscapes, coordinating projects related to faith-based approaches to environmental peacebuilding, and drafting methodologies for religious mappings. Additionally, Mona has participated in various fellowships, including the Mercator Fellowship on International Affairs, where research and project coordination were conducted on the impact of religious actors in international cooperation. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Religion and Culture from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and multiple bachelor's degrees in Diakoniewissenschaft and International Social Work.
