Renewable Energy Component Lead at GIZ

Thachatat Kuvarakul serves as the Renewable Energy Component Lead at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, leading the Renewable Energy Component of the Thai-German Cooperation on Energy, Mobility, and Climate. Kuvarakul co-founded KonneXXi and previously held roles such as Head of Project Management Unit & Climate Academy at The Creagy and Assistant Vice President at Gunkul Engineering Public Company Limited. Prior experience includes Deputy Director for the Energy Programme at GIZ, where management of the energy cluster and development of strategic initiatives were key responsibilities, along with managing numerous projects on climate change and energy planning. Early career experience encompasses project management roles focusing on policy advisory in renewable energy and engineering analysis at Technip. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Energy Systems from FH Aachen University and a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from Chulalongkorn University. Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Smart City Management and Digital Innovation at the School of Renewable Energy and Smart Grid Technology.
