Ian Williams

Ian Williams has extensive experience in the field of trade and renewable energy. Currently serving at Global Affairs Canada since June 2009 as part of the Trade Commissioner Service, Ian leads the Clean Technology Team, specializing in renewable energy sectors such as solar, wind, marine renewable energy, and hydrogen. Previously, Ian worked as a Trade Commissioner focused on the Canadian automotive industry from February 2007 to June 2009, and as a business analyst for Canadian services industries from January 2004 to January 2007. Prior experience includes a technical writing position at JDS Uniphase Corporation from 1999 to 2002. Ian holds degrees in Geography from the University of Waterloo, English Language and Literature from the University of Ottawa, and has completed certificates in Energy and Emerging Technologies from Stanford University and ESG, Climate Risk & the Law from York University - Osgoode Hall Law School.
