Heather Saunders has over a decade of experience in advocacy and policy roles within international development and humanitarian sectors. Currently serving as Deputy Team Lead and Global Advocacy Partnerships Lead at the Global Partnership for Education since January 2017, Heather previously held various positions at Plan UK from 2012 to 2017, including Policy & Advocacy Advisor and Officer, focusing on gender equality and child protection. Earlier experience includes roles such as Advocacy & Policy Advisor at the Plan EU Office and a Global Advocacy Intern for the Because I am a Girl Campaign at Plan International. Heather's background also features positions with the British Red Cross and VSO, where project work involved corporate partnerships and capacity building in Nigeria. Heather holds an MSc in Violence, Conflict & Development from SOAS University of London and a BA in History from the University of Warwick.
