Dr Ioannis Pappas

Dr. Ioannis Pappas is a seasoned professional in sustainable tourism and energy management, currently serving as the Director for the Mediterranean Region and a member of the Board of Directors at the Global Sustainable Tourism Council since September 2015. As the President, CEO, and Founder of Green Evolution SA since May 2010, Dr. Pappas oversees various areas such as clean energy solutions, climate change policy, and carbon asset management. Dr. Pappas also co-founded the Hellenic Passive House Institute and has held important roles in several organizations including the Sustainable Building Council Greece and Green Globe. In addition to practical experience, Dr. Pappas has an extensive academic background, having earned a Post-Doc in Applied Mechanics from the European Commission's Joint Research Center, a PhD in Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering, and a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Patras.
