Richard Downey is a seasoned data scientist with extensive experience in leading data-driven initiatives across multiple industries. Currently, Richard serves as a Data Scientist at RADAR, following a tenure as Lead Data Scientist at Instagram, where responsibilities included utilizing machine learning models to enhance user and retailer engagement through informed decision-making. Prior to Instagram, Richard held the position of Principal Data Scientist at BCG GAMMA, spearheading complex AI projects for major retail clients. Richard's background includes a role as Applied Data Science Director at dunnhumby, where oversight of globally dispersed teams was crucial in delivering analytic solutions, and earlier experience at BT Group and RBS focusing on predictive modeling and customer behavior analysis. Richard holds a BA (Hons) in Marketing/Management Science from the University of Strathclyde and a Master's in Operational Research from Lancaster University.
