Nikki Blue

Nikki Blue is currently the stage manager at Goodman Theatre. Prior to that, they were with San Diego Opera as a production assistant from January 2022 to April 2022. There, they coordinated with artists and production staff for logistical needs including onboarding, scheduling, and parking. Nikki also ran backstage tracks with Stage Management including talent cueing, backstage traffic, and crew duties. Nikki has also worked with IATSE 122 department heads as well as AGMA stage managers and artists. Nikki stage managed ‘El Ultimo Sueno de Frida e Diego’ Opera Workshop.

From September 2019 to August 2022, Nikki was the event staff supervisor: Viejas Arena & Cal Coast Open Air Theatre for Associated Students at San Diego State University. In this role, they supervised and trained student staff in event set-up & break-down, guest services, and crowd control & security procedures. Nikki also oversaw the execution of all events including concerts, basketball games, commencement ceremonies, and other special events.

Nikki’s previous experience also includes working as a production intern at East West Players from June 2018 to August 2018 and as entertainment operations show crew at Universal Studios Hollywood from April 2019 to May 2019. Nikki started at Universal Studios Hollywood in November 2015 as a retail operations team leader and held that position until June 2018.

Nikki Blue has a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from San Diego State University, a Certificate in Entertainment Management from San Diego State University, and a Violin Performance from California State University, Los Angeles. Nikki also has an Associate of Arts in Theatre from Pasadena City College. Nikki is certified as a COVID-19 Compliance Officer by Health Education Services, an Assistant Special Effects Technician by the U.S. Department of Justice, a Fire Extinguisher Technician by FEMA, a Community Emergency Response Team by Universal Studios Hollywood, and an Adult First Aid/CPR/AED by the American Red Cross.

Nikki Blue reports to Roche Schulfer, Executive Director & CEO. They are on a team with David Naunton - House Audio Supervisor, Gina Patterson - Lighting Supervisor, and Kate Vargulich - Guest Services Manager.
