Iain Mulholland

Iain Mulholland is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in security engineering and management. Currently serving as Senior Director of Security Engineering at Google Cloud since May 2021, Mulholland focuses on enhancing security by design and default. Prior to this role, Mulholland was Chief of Staff for Google Cloud Platform and Technical Infrastructure. With a decade-long tenure at VMware, positions held included Chief of Staff to the CEO, Chief Technology Officer for Security, and Vice President for Security, Trust & Assurance, amongst others, where key contributions included leading cybersecurity strategy and initiatives. Early career experiences include co-founding technology startups, serving as Vice President of Engineering at TRUSTe, and holding significant roles at Microsoft, where foundations for security programs were built. An alumnus of Stanford University's Executive Program, Iain Mulholland also has a military background as an Officer in the British Army, specializing in battlefield intelligence.
