Kirill Afanasev

Kirill Afanasev is a highly experienced research scientist specializing in optics and holography, currently working at Google since June 2020 within the AR Hardware division. Prior to this role, Kirill contributed as an Advanced Research Scientist at North and held various positions at LG Electronics Moscow R&D Lab, including Senior Research Engineer, where leadership of projects involving diffraction optics and holography was a key focus. Kirill's early research experience was at the P.N. Lebedev Physical Institute, where foundational work involved laser beam shaping, optical tweezers, and computer-generated holography. Kirill holds a PhD in Optics/Optical Sciences from the P.N. Lebedev Physical Institute and a Master's degree in the same field from Samara State University.
