Sameera Hussain currently serves as the Director of Strategic Integration in the Office of International Affairs for the Health Portfolio with the Government of Canada since October 2023. In parallel, Sameera holds the position of Adjunct Professor at the University of Ottawa, contributing to the Master of Public Health program through guest lectures. Previously, from April 2020 to September 2023, Sameera worked at the Public Health Agency of Canada as the A/Director of Horizontal Planning and as a Senior Advisor, where expertise in policy development and strategic planning was applied to address public health challenges in the post-COVID-19 landscape. Sameera has also held roles with the Canadian Society for International Health, Canadian Institutes of Health Research, BRAC, and the University of Queensland, focusing on global health policy, strategic development, and knowledge mobilization. Education includes a Ph.D. in Public Health from The University of Queensland, a Master's in Development Studies from North South University, and a Bachelor of Arts and Science from Queen's University.
